Error Message "cp: cannot overwrite directory '/usr/local/sbin/npu-smi' with non-directory" Is Displayed During Driver Installation
This section applies only to NPU 20.X.X.
You can check the NPU version from the driver package name. For example, if the driver package name is A300-3000-NPU_Driver-20.0.0-ARM64-Ubuntu18.04.run, the NPU version is 20.0.0.
Symptom
During the driver package installation, an error message "cp: cannot overwrite directory '/usr/local/sbin/npu-smi' with non-directory" is displayed, as shown in Figure 9-11.
Possible Causes
The npu-smi folder exists in the /usr/local/sbin directory. During the driver installation, the npu-smi folder fails to be copied. As a result, the driver fails to be installed.
Solution
Back up the content in the /usr/local/sbin/npu-smi folder, delete the /usr/local/sbin/npu-smi folder, and reinstall the driver.
