What Should I Do When the CPU Prints the "soft lockup" Error Message Upon Driver Loading Timeout?
Symptom
There is a possibility that the system-udevd service loading times out and the soft lockup error is reported during driver loading.
Possible Causes
After BMC serial port log redirection is enabled, the current system sets the kernel printk log level to DEBUG by default. As such, logs generated during driver loading are printed to the serial port. As a result, the CPU scheduling slows down, and the system-udevd and soft lockup errors may be reported.
Solution
- Perform the following steps to disable BMC serial port log redirection for the Atlas 800 inference server (model 3000):
- Press Delete during system startup to access the BIOS setting screen.
- Choose Advanced > MISC Config.
- Set Support SPCR to Disabled.
- Press F10.
- The Save configuration changes and exit? dialog box is displayed.
- Select Yes and press Enter to save the BIOS settings. The server automatically restarts.
