Removing a Fire Extinguisher Cylinder from a Lithium Battery Cabinet
- Remove the rear cover from the SmartLi cabinet.
- Remove the fire-trace tube.
Do not bend or twist the fire-trace tube. Otherwise, the tube may be damaged and extinguishant may leak.
- Loosen the connection nut using an adjustable torque wrench.
- Remove the end of the fire-trace tube from the threaded nozzle.Figure 5-18 Removing the fire-trace tube

- Remove the dry contact cable from the fire extinguisher cylinder.Figure 5-19 Disconnecting dry contact cable terminals
- Remove the fire extinguisher cylinder fastener and take out the cylinder.Figure 5-20 Taking out the fire extinguisher cylinder
- Check the cylinder and all components for any damage, abrasion, or corrosion. If there is any visible abrasion or corrosion, replace the damaged components and all corroded components.
- Observe the pressure gauge on the fire extinguisher cylinder.
- If the pointer reading is 0 MPa, the cylinder is empty. Perform steps 7 and 8 to fill extinguishant onsite.
- If the pointer reading is greater than 1.1 MPa, the cylinder is filled with extinguishant. In this case, skip steps 7 and 8.
- Send the fire extinguisher cylinder to a station to fill extinguishant. Heptafluoropropane or perfluorohexanone is recommended. The required amount is 3 kg. The screw thread specification of the filler port is M10x1.
- In the process of assembling and filling, ensure that the valve, container, and other parts are clean and not contaminated.
- Do not remove the container valve and its components. For other operations, follow the extinguishant filling specifications of the station.
- If you have any questions about filling extinguishant, contact technical support.

- Check the status of the fire extinguisher cylinder after filling extinguishant. If the cylinder is not installed in the cabinet immediately after extinguishant is filled, check the status of the cylinder again before installation.
- Check that the valve is closed (vertical to the cylinder).
- Check that the value of the pressure gauge on the cylinder is within the allowable pressure range specified in Table 5-3.
- Remove the fire-trace tube and dry contact cable from the rear of the SmartLi, and place them on the battery tray at the first layer.
Store the removed cable clips in a proper place for future use.
- Remove the cable clips that secure the fire-trace tube and dry contact cable.
- Place the fire-trace tube and dry contact cable on the battery tray at the first layer.
