Terms
This section describes the terms that are easy to obfuscate during the installation.
- Primary/Secondary server: The primary/secondary server refers to the primary/secondary virtual machine used in a high-availability system. The primary/secondary role is specified during the installation, and the role does not change when the active/standby switchover occurs. In most of the time, a primary server is in active state, whereas a secondary server is in standby state to protect the primary server.
- Active (Standby) server: It is used for the high availability system. The active (standby) server refers to the server in the active (standby) state. The server in the standby state protects the server in the active state.
- Active (Standby) state: It is used for the high availability system. The active (standby) state refers to the working (protection) state. For example, if all the relevant applications on a server run normally, this server is in the active state.
