Checking and Disabling the Drive Cache of eSight Physical Machines
Before the installation, you need to check and disable the drive cache of all eSight physical machines, to prevent GaussDB from failing to be started after abnormal server power-off or shutdown and therefore ensure proper eSight startup.
Procedure
- Log in to the iBMC WebUI. Take the iBMC of 2288X V5 servers as an example.
- In the address box of a browser, enter the iBMC address in the format of https://IP address of the iBMC management network port on the server. The default address is https://192.168.2.100.
- Press Enter. The iBMC login page is displayed.
- If the browser displays There is a problem with this website's security certificate., click Continue to this website (not recommended).
- If the Security Alert dialog box indicating a certificate error is displayed, click Yes.
- On the iBMC login page, enter the user name and password of the iBMC.

- Select Local iBMC from the Domain drop-down list.
- Click Log In.
- Choose System > Storage Management from the main menu. The controller information is displayed.
- Check whether the value of Drive Cache Policy of all logical drives is Disabled.
- If no, disable the drive cache.
- Select the logical drive to be modified, click
in the upper right corner, and set Drive Cache Policy to Disabled.
- Click OK.
- Select the logical drive to be modified, click
