Removing the Protective Parts of Enclosures
If a storage system is shipped as an integrated bay, protective parts are pre-installed for the device. These protective parts are used to protect device connectors during transportation. After the bay is installed, remove the corresponding protective parts.
Removing Front Protective Parts of a Controller Enclosure
Use a Phillips screwdriver to loosen the screws counterclockwise on the front protection parts of the controller enclosure on both sides, and remove the front protection parts.
Removing Positioning Blocks of a Controller Enclosure or Disk Enclosure
The method of removing positioning blocks for a smart disk enclosure is the same as that of removing positioning blocks for a SAS disk enclosure or controller enclosure. The following uses a smart disk enclosure as an example.
- Use a Phillips screwdriver to loosen the screw counterclockwise on the positioning block and remove the screw, as shown in Figure 3-64.
- Loossen the positioning block counterclockwise by holding its handle, and then pull out the positioning block. See steps 1 and 2 in Figure 3-65.
- Repeat 1 and 2 to remove the positioning block on the other side of the disk enclosure.
