(Optional) Installing Other Software on an Application Server

UltraPath

When storage system is built redundant physical connection to the application server to increase communication link reliability, you can simplify the resource management by installing the UltraPath to display the redundant paths as one virtual link.

• When redundant paths are used between the AIX host and Huawei storage device and no SAN boot operation is required, Huawei UltraPath (homegrown multipathing software) can be used.
• When redundant paths are used between the AIX host and Huawei storage device and the SAN boot operation is required, AIX host multipathing software and AIX ODM for MPIO need to be installed. For details, see Installing AIX ODM for MPIO in the AIX ODM for MPIO User Guide.

BCManager eReplication

When value-added features (such as asynchronous remote replication and snapshot) are used, BCManager eReplication must be installed to manage these value-added features on the host and protects data consistency.

eService

eService is used for equipment monitoring, alarm reporting, and device inspection.

SystemReporter
