Creating a Host Group
To allow hosts to use LUNs, you must add hosts into host groups and establish mapping views between the LUN groups and host groups. A host group can contain one or multiple hosts.

Procedure
- Log in to DeviceManager.
- Choose
Provisioning >
Host > Host Group.
- Click Create.
The Create Host Group dialog box is displayed.

- The name must be unique.
- The name can contain only letters, digits, periods (.), underscores (_), and hyphens (-).
- The name must contain 1 to 31 characters.

- Select the hosts you want to add to the host group.
- In the Available Hosts area, select one or multiple hosts based on service requirements.
If hosts to be added into a host group belong to different clusters, data access conflict may occur, resulting in data loss. Before performing this operation, you are advised to install cluster software to manage hosts.
By default, Shows only the hosts that do not belong to any host group at the lower left corner of the dialog box is selected to facilitate host locating.
- Click
to add the hosts to the Selected Hosts area.
- Confirm the creation of the host group.
- Click OK.
The Caution dialog box is displayed.
The Execution Result dialog box is displayed if only one host is selected.
- Click OK.
The Execution Result dialog box is displayed, indicating that the operation succeeded.
- Click Close.
- Click OK.
