Drafting the Connection Topology (Direct-Connection Network)
This section describes cable connections between controller enclosures. If a storage system has two or more controller enclosures, each controller in every controller enclosure must be connected to application servers. For details, see "Connection Planning for Multiple Controller Enclosures and One Application Server" in the Installation Guide specific to your product model and version.
Four-Controller Networking Diagram (OceanStor 2600 V5)
Figure 10-1 shows the networking diagram of expanding two controllers to four controllers.
If you want to remotely power on the storage system, connect the cables (green cables) of the maintenance network ports as instructed in the figure. In other cases, you do not need to connect the green cables. For details about remote power-on, see "Powering on the Storage System (Remotely on the CLI)" in the Administrator Guide specific to your product model and version.
Four-Controller Networking Diagram (OceanStor 5300 V5 and 5300F V5)
Figure 10-2 and Figure 10-3 show the networking diagram of expanding two controllers to four controllers.
For V500R007C70 and later versions, if you want to remotely power on the storage system, connect the cables (green cables) of the maintenance network ports as instructed in the figure. In other cases, you do not need to connect the green cables. For details about remote power-on, see "Powering on the Storage System (Remotely on the CLI)" in the Administrator Guide specific to your product model and version.
Four-Controller Networking Diagram (OceanStor 5500 V5, 5500F V5, 5600 V5, and 5800 V5)
Figure 10-4 shows the networking diagram of expanding two controllers to four controllers.
- The following uses the controller enclosures with onboard mini SAS HD ports as an example to describe the networking. Networking of the controller enclosures with onboard 100 Gbit/s RDMA ports is the same.
- For V500R007C70 and later versions, if you want to remotely power on the storage system, connect the cables (green cables) of the maintenance network ports as instructed in the figure. In other cases, you do not need to connect the green cables. For details about remote power-on, see "Powering on the Storage System (Remotely on the CLI)" in the Administrator Guide specific to your product model and version.
