Mapping Between SAS Disk Enclosure Locations and Expansion Ports (OceanStor 18000F V5 Series)
Figure C-5 shows the layout of disk enclosures in a bay and the expansion port IDs for connecting SAS disk enclosures.
The green and orange areas indicate level-1 and level-2 disk enclosures respectively (that is, first and second disk enclosures in a loop). On the right of a disk enclosure ID is the port ID of the controller enclosure connecting to the disk enclosure.
The port ID is in the format of CTEX:HX/LX:PX. CTEX indicates the controller enclosure ID, HX/LX indicates the slot ID of the expansion module, and PX indicates the port ID on the expansion module.
For example, DAE000 indicates the level-1 disk enclosure connecting to port P0 in slot 6 of controller enclosure 0, and DAE001 indicates the level-2 disk enclosure connecting to port P0 in slot 6 of controller enclosure 0.
- All disk enclosures in each fully populated bay are divided into eight loops. The loops are numbered 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 from bottom to top.
- The lower half of a bay is from 1 U to 16 U housing loop 0 to loop 3.
- The upper half of a bay is from 17 U to 42 U housing loop 4 to loop 7.
Connecting 2 U SAS Disk Enclosures
- If the number of 2 U disk enclosures is a multiple of 16, the layout of system bay 0 and a disk bay is shown in Figure C-5.
- If the number of 2 U disk enclosures is not a multiple of 16
- Each loop contains only one disk enclosure.
Disk bays and system bays have the same disk enclosure layout principles. The following uses system bay 0 as an example.
Allocate disk enclosures to loops 0 to 7 in the sequence of DAE000 > DAE010 >...> DAE0E0 > DAE0F0.
- Each loop contains up to two disk enclosures.
Install level-1 disk enclosures in the same bay and level-2 disk enclosures in the same bay. Disk bays and system bays have the same disk enclosure layout principles. The following uses system bay 0 and disk bay 0_0 as an example.
- Allocate level-1 disk enclosures to loops 0 to 7 in system bay 0 in the sequence of DAE000 > DAE010 >...> DAE0E0 > DAE0F0.
- Allocate level-2 disk enclosures to loops 0 to 7 in disk bay 0_0 in the sequence of DAE001 > DAE011 >...> DAE0E1 > DAE0F1.
- Each loop contains only one disk enclosure.
