Rollback Scenario 2 (Applicable When New Controllers Have Been Installed)
This section describes how to roll back controller expansion if a failure occurs after new controllers have been installed.
Context
In this scenario, an error message stating The number of new cluster controllers is incorrect is displayed on SmartKit.
Procedure
- Check whether the new controllers have been correctly installed. If any controller is not installed or incorrectly installed, reinstall the controller. Then check whether the error message is cleared. If the error message persists, perform the next step to roll back the controller expansion.
- Roll back controller expansion in the original storage system.
- Collect the related logs.
- Log in to the CLI and run the change user_mode current_mode user_mode=engineer command to enter the engineer mode.
- Run the change controllers_expansion cancel controller_total=m command to roll back controller expansion.
m indicates the total number of original controllers in the cluster.
- Remove the two new controllers.
