Connecting Controller Enclosures
This section describes how to connect cables among hardware devices after they are installed.
Prerequisites
- Hardware has been deployed.
- 25G SFP28 cables have been prepared.
- 25G SFP28 cable labels are ready.
Procedure
- Locate the 25G SFP28 cables used for expansion, and attach the labels.
- Use 25G SFP28 cables to connect original controller enclosures and new controller enclosures.
- Ensure that a cable is connected to a storage system for over 2 minutes. Otherwise, the storage system may fail to detect the newly connected cable. If the storage system cannot detect a cable that is connected for over 2 minutes, check that the cable is properly connected and functions normally. Then, reinsert the cable.
- Compare the SNs of the controller enclosures to be expanded. Then, connect cables to these controller enclosures in ascending order of their SNs. For example, if the SNs of three controller enclosures are 210235843710E7000007 and 210235843710E7000008 respectively, connect cables to 210235843710E7000007 first, then to 210235843710E7000008.
- After all the cables are connected, confirm that the connections meet the networking requirements.
