Creating Logical Ports for an IP Replication Link
This section describes how to create logical ports for an IP replication link.
Context
Perform this operation on both ends of the IP replication link.
Procedure
- Choose System > Hardware.
- In the navigation tree, select a physical port for which you want to create a logical port.
- In the function pane, select Manage Logical Port.
The Manage Logical Port dialog box is displayed.
- Click Create.
The Create Logical Port dialog box is displayed.
- In the Create Logical Port dialog box, set the parameters.
Table 3-2 lists the logical port parameters.

Comply with the following rules to name a logical port for software compatibility.
- The name must be unique.
- The name can contain only letters, digits, periods (.), underscores (_), and hyphens (-).
- The name can contain 1 to 31 characters.

IP Address Type
IP address type of a logical port. Possible values are IPv4 and IPv6.

IP Address
IPv4 or IPv6 address of a logical port.

Subnet Mask
Subnet mask of the IPv4 address of a logical port.

Prefix
Prefix of the IPv6 address of a logical port.

Gateway of the IPv4 or IPv6 address of a logical port.

- Click OK.
