Creating a Remote Replication Pair
This section describes how to create a remote replication pair.
Prerequisites
- A storage pool has been created on the secondary remote replication device.
- The remote LUN has not been mapped to a host.
Context
- On an A-B-C cascading 3DC network, create a remote replication pair on the storage system at site B.
The secondary LUN of the HyperMetro pair between sites A and B is the primary LUN of the remote replication pair between sites B and C.
- On an A-B, A-C parallel 3DC network, create a remote replication pair on the storage system at site A.
The local LUN of the HyperMetro pair at site A is the primary LUN in the remote replication pair.
Operation Description
- To create a remote replication pair, log in to DeviceManager and choose Services > Block Service > LUNs. Select the desired LUN, click Protect and choose Create Remote Replication.

- When creating a remote replication pair, do not select Yes for Standby in the Advanced properties.
