This section describes how to maintain IP radio access network (RAN) virtual cluster access.
Checking VP and VC Continuity
This section describes how to check virtual path (VP) and virtual circuit (VC) continuity.
Context
After you configure virtual cluster access, run the vping command to check VP and VC continuity. If a fault occurs, run the vtracert command to locate the fault.
Procedure
- Run the vping [ -c count | -exp exp-value | -m interval | -t time-out ] * ap { ap-name | ip-address } [ primary | hotstandby ] command in any view to check the continuity of the primary and backup VPs from a master to an AP.
- Run the vtracert [ -exp exp-value | -t time-out ] * ap { ap-name | ip-address } [ primary | hotstandby ] command in any view to locate faults on the primary and backup VPs from a master to an AP.
- Run the vping [ -c count | -exp exp-value | -m interval | -t time-out ] * ap { ap-name | ip-address } interface interface-type interface-number command in any view to check the continuity of the VC from a master to an AP.
Restarting Virtual Cluster Access
This section describes how to restart virtual cluster access.
Context
To ensure that changes in virtual cluster access configurations immediately take effect or to manually restore virtual cluster access, run the reset virtual-cluster-access command to restart virtual cluster access.
After you run the command, the original Master Slave Control Protocol (MSCP) channels, virtual paths (VPs), and virtual circuits (VCs) are deleted and reestablished.
Using a Master to Log In to and Manage an AP
This section describes how to use a master to log in to an access point (AP) and manage the AP.
Context
Virtual cluster access enables you to use a master to log in to an AP and manage and view AP configurations.
Procedure
- Run the system-view command to enter the system view.
- Run the virtual-cluster-access command to enter the virtual cluster access view.
- Run the ap name name ip ip-address command to configure a name for an
AP.
The ip-address parameter specifies the management IP address of an AP.
- Run the commit command to commit the configuration.
- Run the quit command to return to the system view.
- Run the quit command to return to the user view.
- Run the ap { ip ap-ip | name ap-name } command to use a master to log in to a specified AP.
