IGMP Snooping Configuration
Context
Configuring basic IGMP snooping functions in a VLAN enables the switch to create and maintain a Layer 2 multicast forwarding table, based on which multicast data packets can be forwarded accurately to receivers over the data link layer.
If Layer 2 multicast is not enabled on the switch, the switch broadcasts unknown multicast flows in the corresponding VLAN.
If Layer 2 multicast is enabled, the switch broadcasts unknown multicast flows in the corresponding VLAN in MAC address-based forwarding mode and drops unknown multicast flows in IP address-based forwarding mode.
Procedure
- Choose and click the IGMP Snooping Configuration tab.
- Click a configuration record of a VLAN enter the editing state, as shown in Figure 5-128.
- Set IGMP snooping parameters, such as IGMP Snooping and IGMP Version.

Procedure
- Create a static user.
- Choose and click the Group Member Ports tab, as shown in Figure 5-129.
- Click Create Static User to display the Create Static User page, as shown in Figure 5-130.

Selected outbound interfaces
Lists the interfaces that you have selected on the panel.
Multicast group address
Enter the IP address of the multicast group to which you want to bind the interfaces.
Multicast source address
Enter a multicast source address.
VLAN ID
Enter the VLAN ID of the interfaces. The value is an integer ranging from 1 to 4094.
- Delete a static user.
- Click Delete Static User to display the Delete Static User page, as shown in Figure 5-131.

VLAN ID
Select a VLAN ID to remove the interfaces from the group in the specified VLAN.
Multicast group address
Enter the IP address of the multicast group from which you want to remove the interfaces.
Multicast source address
Enter a multicast source address.
- Click Delete Static User to display the Delete Static User page, as shown in Figure 5-131.
- Delete dynamic multicast entries.
- Choose and click the Group Member Ports tab, as shown in Figure 5-129.
- Select the dynamic multicast entries you want to delete and click Delete Dynamic Multicast Entry. The system asks you whether to delete the entries.
- Click OK.
