AP Upgrade

Procedure

• Configure AP upgrade.
  1. Choose Maintenance > AP Maintenance > AP Upgrade. The AP Upgrade page is displayed, as shown in Figure 7-55.

  2. Click New Upgrade Task. The configuration page is displayed, as shown in Figure 7-56.

     Item	Description
     Upgrade scope	Upgrades an AP group or a single AP.
     AP type	Specifies the type of APs to be upgraded. This parameter is available when Upgrade scope is set to AP group.
     AP group	Specifies the AP group to which the APs to be upgraded belong. This parameter is available when Upgrade scope is set to AP group.
     AP name	Specifies the AP to be upgraded. This parameter is available when Upgrade scope is set to Single AP.
     Upgrade file	Selects the location where the upgrade file is stored. On the AC: An AP downloads the target version file from an AC. On the server: An AP downloads the target version file from a server.
     Select a file	Specifies the AP upgrade file. This parameter is available when Upgrade file is set to On the AC.
     Server type	Indicates the AP upgrade mode in which APs download upgrade versions from the FTP or SFTP server. This parameter is available when Upgrade file is set to On the server.
     Server IP	Specifies the IP address of the FTP or SFTP server. This parameter is available when Upgrade file is set to On the server.
     FTP user name	Specifies the user name used to log in to the FTP server. This parameter is available when Server type is set to FTP.
     FTP password	Specifies the password used to log in to the FTP server. This parameter is available when Server type is set to FTP.
     SFTP user name	Specifies the user name used to log in to the SFTP server. This parameter is available when Server type is set to SFTP.
     SFTP password	Specifies the password used to log in to the SFTP server. This parameter is available when Server type is set to SFTP.
     File name	Specifies the AP upgrade file. This parameter is available when Upgrade file is set to On the server.
     Upgrade mode	Specifies the AP upgrade mode. Upgrade immediately: After the version file is downloaded to the AP, automatically reset the AP using the new version. Download upgrade file: After the version file is downloaded to the AP, manually upgrade the AP. Scheduled upgrade: After the version file is downloaded to the AP, upgrade the AP in a specified time period.
     Start time	Specifies the start time of the scheduled AP upgrade task. This parameter is available when Upgrade mode is set to Scheduled upgrade.
     End time	Specifies the end time of the scheduled AP upgrade task. This parameter is available when Upgrade mode is set to Scheduled upgrade.

  3. Set the parameters.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Click AP Upgrade File Configuration, and you can view the configured upgrade task.
  6. Select the AP upgrade task to be deleted and click Delete. The system asks you whether to delete the AP upgrade task. Click OK.
• View the AP upgrade progress.
  1. Choose Maintenance > AP Maintenance > AP Upgrade. The AP Upgrade page is displayed, as shown in Figure 7-55.
  2. Click APs Being Upgraded. The AP upgrade progress is displayed on the page.
  3. Select the AP to be restarted and click Restart. The system asks whether to restart the AP. Click OK.
  4. Click Channel Group Restart, and set AC address for link establishment after restart and Restart mode to reset APs in batches.
  5. Click Cancel Channel Group Restart to cancel group restart.
• View the scheduled AP upgrade task.
  1. Choose Maintenance > AP Maintenance > AP Upgrade. The AP Upgrade page is displayed, as shown in Figure 7-55.
  2. Click Scheduled Upgrade Tasks. The scheduled AP upgrade task is displayed on the page.
