Reason=Failed to obtain the interface power supply status.
Failed to obtain the port power supply status.
Reason=PoE port fails.
The port was faulty.
Procedure
- For "Reason=PoE was disabled on the interface", run the display this command in the corresponding interface view
to check whether the undo poe enable command configuration
exists.
- If this configuration exists and you need to power on the PD again, run the poe enable command in the corresponding interface view to enable PoE.
- If this command does not exist, contact technical support personnel.
- For "Reason=The configured maximum power of the interface was lower
than the current power consumption", run the display this command in the corresponding interface view to check whether the poe power port-max-power command configuration
exists.
- If this configuration exists, and you need to power on the PD again, run the undo poe power command in the corresponding interface view to restore the default maximum output power of the interface.
- If this command does not exist, contact technical support personnel.
- For "Reason=Manual power-off was performed", if you need to power on the PD again, run the poe power-on interface interface-type interface-number command to manually power on the PD on the specified interface.
- For "Reason=The interface was in the power-off time range", run the display this command in the corresponding interface view
to check whether the poe power-off time-rangetime-range-name command configuration exists.
- If this configuration exists, and you need to power on the PD again, run the undo poe power-off time-range command in the corresponding interface view to cancel the configured PoE power-off time range.
- If this command does not exist, contact technical support personnel.
- For "Reason=The interface was in an overload condition", run the display poe power, display poe power-state, and display poe information commands in any view to collect the command output and contact technical support personnel.
- For "Reason=The interface was in an overcurrent condition", run the display poe power, display poe power-state, and display poe information commands in any view to collect the command output and contact technical support personnel.
- For "Reason=The PD was disconnected, the inrush current exceeded
the PD threshold, or MPS current was too low", perform the following
operations:
- Check whether the PD is disconnected. If it is disconnected, reconnect it. If it is connected properly, continue the next operation.
- Run the poe af-inrush enable command in the interface view to change the power supply standards of the interface from 802.3at to 802.3af and then check whether the fault is rectified. If the fault persists, continue the next operation.
- Run the poe power-on delay delay-time command in the interface view to set the power-on delay and then check whether the fault is rectified. If the fault persists, continue the next operation.
- Run the display poe power, display poe power-state, and display poe information commands in any view to collect the command output and contact technical support personnel.
- For "Reason=The system power was insufficient", perform
the following operations:
- Run the display poe information command in any view to check current PoE running information on the switch. Focus on the field if the switch. If the load is high, the system powers off low-priority PDs to reduce the number of PDs. If the fault persists, continue the next operation.
- Run the display poe-power command in any view to check PoE running information on the switch. Focus on the Reserved PoE Power Percent field and check whether its value is high. Its default value is 20%. If its value is much higher than 20%, run the poe power-reserved power-reserved command in the system view to set the percentage of the reserved PoE power against the available PoE power to a smaller value. If the fault persists, contact technical support personnel.
- For "Reason=Failed to obtain the interface power supply status", run the display poe power, display poe power-state, and display poe information commands in any view to collect the command output and contact technical support personnel.
- For "Reason=PoE port fails", run the display poe power, display poe power-state, and display poe information commands in any view to collect the command output and contact technical support personnel.
POE/4/POENOTAVAILABLE
Parameters
Parameter Name | Parameter Meaning |
---|---|
ChassisID | Indicates the chassis ID. |
SlotID | Indicates the slot ID of a board. |
Possible Causes
- The device is a non-PoE device.
- The device is a PoE device but does not have a PoE power module installed.
- The PoE chip on the PoE board experiences a hardware fault.
Procedure
- Check whether the PoE function is required.
- If not, the log handling ends.
- If so, go to step 2.
- Check whether the device in which the PoE board is installed
supports the PoE function. Currently, the following switches support
the PoE function: S7703, S7703 PoE, S7706, S7706 PoE, and S7712.
- If not, replace the device with a PoE-supporting switch.
- If so, go to step 3.
- Check whether any available PoE power module is installed
in the PoE power slot of the device.
- If so, collect log information and configuration information, and then contact technical support personnel.
- If so, install an available PoE power module in the PoE power slot.
POE/4/POENOTAVAILABLERESUME
POE/4/PORTPDOVERLD
Description
The power of the PD connected to the GE interface exceeded the maximum power of the interface.
Procedure
- Run the poe power command to increase the maximum power of the interface.
- If this log is still displayed after the available power of the interface is changed to the maximum value, the power required by the PD exceeds the maximum power of the interface, so this interface cannot supply power to this PD. Replace this interface with another one.
POE/6/PORTPWR
POE/4/POWERFAIL
Message
POE/4/POWERFAIL: The PD connected to the port fails to be powered on. (InterfaceName=[STRING])
Procedure
- Remove the cable between the PD and port and reconnect
the cable to check whether the PD can be powered on.
- If so, the alarm handling ends.
- If not, go to step 2.
- Replace the PD with a new one to whether the new PD can
be powered on.
- If so, the alarm handling ends.
- If not, collect log information and configuration information, and then contact technical support personnel. You can collect diagnostic information using the display diagnostic-information command.
POE/4/PWRUTITHRESH
Parameters
Parameter Name | Parameter Meaning |
---|---|
ChassisID |
Indicates the ID of the chassis where the log is generated. |
Possible Causes
The total power consumption of all the PDs is greater than or equal to the alarm threshold.
Procedure
- Check whether the power consumption of the PDs is within
the accepted range.
- If so, go to step 2.
- If not, go to step 3.
- Run the poe-power utilization-threshold command to change the alarm threshold for PoE power consumption percentage.
- Replan the network based on the system external power supply capability. Run the poe priority command to increase the priority of important PDs to prevent their power from being occupied by other PDs. Power off the PDs that are not required to ensure system reliability.
POE/4/MCUREFRESHFAIL
Procedure
- Run the refresh poe mcu port-mapping command three times.
- If no log is recorded, no further action is required.
- If the log is still recorded, go to step 2.
- Collect log information and configuration information, and then contact technical support personnel. You can collect diagnostic information using the display diagnostic-information command.
