O&M Information Reporting Deployment Modes
An O&M information reporting system consists of the switch, analyzer, and controller. The analyzer refers to Huawei's iMaster NCE-CampusInsight or eSight, and the controller refers to Huawei's iMaster NCE-Campus.
The three components in the O&M information reporting system have the following functions:
- Switch: is a network device that receives collection instructions from the analyzer, samples data sources specified by the analyzer, and sends the sampled data to the analyzer.
- Analyzer: receives, stores, and analyzes the monitoring data reported by network devices.
- Controller: automatically delivers the interconnection configuration between the switch and analyzer, dynamically delivers configurations to the switch based on the analyzer's requirements, and implements path tracking and fault demarcation for the switch.
As shown in Figure 15-1, an O&M information reporting system can be deployed in either independent or joint mode, depending on whether a controller is deployed.
- Independent deployment: The O&M information reporting system contains only the switch and analyzer. When eSight is used as the analyzer, only the independent deployment mode is supported.
In independent deployment mode, an analyzer obtains switch information through SNMP and obtains KPI information about switches through Telemetry.
- Joint deployment: In addition to the switch and analyzer, the O&M information reporting system also contains a controller.
In joint deployment mode, a controller obtains switch information through Telemetry and synchronizes the information to an analyzer. The controller and analyzer obtain KPI information about switches through Telemetry.
Figure 15-2 and Figure 15-3 show the interaction processes in independent and joint deployment modes, respectively.
