qualityOfServiceAlarm(3) |
Parameters
Name | Meaning |
---|---|
oid |
Indicates the MIB object ID of the alarm. |
GroupAddressType |
Indicates the inetAddressType of group address. The value can be:
|
SrcAddr |
Indicates the source address of the Report message. |
GrpAddr |
Indicates the group address of the Report message. |
LimitCnt |
Indicates the limit of global IGMP or MLD entries in the current instance. |
InstanceName |
Indicates the instance name. |
Impact on the System
After the number of global entries of a single instance reaches the limit, new members fail to join the IGMP or MLD group, and corresponding entries cannot be established. In this case, terminal users cannot receive the desired on-demand video programs.
Possible Causes
After the limit to the number of global IGMP or MLD entries in a single instance was set on the switch, when the number of global IGMP or MLD entries reached the limit, new members failed to join the IGMP or MLD group and the corresponding trap was generated.
Global IGMP or MLD entries include the (*,G) entries, (S,G) entries, and entries in the SSM-mapping table in the current instance.
Procedure
- Run the display igmp [ vpn-instance vpn-instance-name ] group verbose command or the display mld group verbose command to check whether the statistical number of IGMP or MLD entries is equal to or greater than the limit value in the current instance.
If so, go to Step 2.
If not, go to Step 4.
- Check the network status and judge whether more IGMP or MLD entries can be maintained in the current instance in the network.
If so, go to Step 3.
If not, go to Step 5. This situation indicates that multicast services in the network are saturated and therefore no more IGMP or MLD entries can be added. You are advised to reduce multicast services or deploy a higher-performance device as an alternative to the current device.
- Run the limit number command in the IGMP view or the limit number command in the MLD view to increase the limit value of the IGMP or MLD entries in the current instance. Then, check whether the trap persists.
If so, go to Step 1.
If not, go to Step 5.
- Collect alarm information and configuration information, and then contact technical support personnel.
- End.

- Run the mgmd host source-group-number threshold-alarm upper-limit upper-limit-value lower-limit lower-limit-value command in the multicast MIB view to set the upper alarm threshold to a larger value.
- Confirm whether network expansion is required. If network expansion is required, contact technical support personnel.
- End.

Description
MGMD/3/hwMgmdHostSGThresholdExceedClear:OID [oid] IGMP or MLD total (S, G) entries on the host side of all instances count fell below the lower threshold. (hwMgmdNotificationAddressType=[integer], hwMgmdHostSGCurrentCount=[integer], hwMgmdHostSGThreshold=[integer]%, hwMgmdHostSGTotalCount=[integer])
The (S, G) entry usage of all instances fell below the specified lower alarm threshold on the user-side IGMP/MLD device.

MGMD_1.3.6.1.4.1.2011.5.25.149.3.3.20 hwMgmdHostSGExceed
Description
MGMD/3/hwMgmdHostSGExceed:OID [oid] IGMP or MLD total (S, G) entries on the host side cannot be created because the limit is reached. (hwMgmdNotificationAddressType=[integer], hwMgmdHostNotificationSrcAddr=[binary], hwMgmdHostNotificationGroup=[], hwMgmdHostSGCurrentCount=[], hwMgmdInstanceName=[string])
The total number of (S, G) entries of all instances exceeded the maximum number allowed on the user-side IGMP/MLD device.

Impact on the System
New (S, G) entries cannot be created, because the total number of (S, G) entries of all instances has exceeded the maximum number allowed on the user-side IGMP/MLD device.
Possible Causes
The total number of (S, G) entries of all instances exceeded the maximum number allowed on the user-side IGMP/MLD device.
Procedure
- Confirm whether network expansion is required. If network expansion is required, contact technical support personnel.
- If the IGMP or MLD (S, G) entries of an address family and instance indicated in the alarm information are not needed, delete them to reduce the number of (S, G) entries.
- End.
MGMD_1.3.6.1.4.1.2011.5.25.149.3.3.21 hwMgmdHostSGExceedClear
Description
MGMD/3/hwMgmdHostSGExceedClear:OID [oid] IGMP or MLD total (S, G) entries can be created because the number of IGMP or MLD total (S, G) entries on the host side fell below the limit. (hwMgmdNotificationAddressType=[integer], hwMgmdHostSGTotalCount=[integer])
The total number of (S, G) entries of all instances fell below the maximum number allowed on the user-side IGMP/MLD device, so new (S, G) entries can be created.
