Description
ASMNG/3/ASFAULT: OID [oid] The AS fails. (AS Index=[INTEGER], AS Name=[STRING], AS Model=[STRING], AS MAC=[OPAQUE], AS Fault Times=[INTEGER])
The AS went offline.
Attribute
Alarm ID | Alarm Severity | Alarm Type |
---|---|---|
1.3.6.1.4.1.2011.5.25.327.31.2.2.1 | Minor | communicationsAlarm(2) |

AS Name | Indicates the AS name. |
AS Model | Indicates the AS model. |
AS MAC | Indicates the MAC address of the AS. |
AS Fault Times | Indicates the number of times the AS goes offline. |
Possible Causes
Cause 1: The AS was powered off.
Cause 2: The link between the AS and parent failed.
Cause 3: Heartbeat packets between the AS and parent were lost.
Cause 4: The AS restarted.
Procedure
- Run the display as { all | name as-name | mac-address mac-address | vpn-instance information } command to check whether the AS is online.
- If so, the alarm handling ends.
- If not, go to step 2.
- Check whether the AS is manually forced offline.
- If so, the alarm handling ends.
- If not, go to step 3.
- Check whether the AS is powered off or restarted.
- If so, find out the cause.
- Check whether the AS voltage is unstable. If so, add voltage regulators or adjust power supply.
- If the AS connects to the parent across a network, the AS may restart because of attacks. To check whether attacks occur, log in to the AS and run the display as access configuration command. If the Current connected access controller field displays a different IP address than the currently used parent IP address, an attack from third-party devices occurs. To defend this attack, configure the DHCP snooping function on the intermediate device.
- If not, go to step 4.
- If so, find out the cause.
- Check whether the link between the AS and parent fails, for example, check whether the link is Down. If the link between the AS and parent is normal while the trap still exists.
If so, collect alarm information and configuration information, and then contact technical support personnel.
If not, the alarm handling ends.

Possible Causes
- No license was available on the parent or the license expired.
- The models of member devices in the AS stack system were different.
- The port connecting the parent to the AS was not bound to the corresponding indirectly-connected fabric port.
- Ports of the AS were configured as member ports of an uplink fabric port.
- An AS with the same ESN has gone online.
- The number of ASs and APs connected to the parent has reached the maximum number of CAPWAP links.
- The authentication profile pre-configured on an AS is different from that on other ASs connected to the same fabric port.
Procedure
- No license was available on the parent or the license expired.
Load a new license.
- The models of member devices in the AS stack system were different.
Use devices with the same model, port type, and port quantity to establish a stack system.
- The port connecting the parent to the AS was not bound to the corresponding indirectly-connected fabric port.
Bind the port connecting the parent to the AS to the corresponding indirectly-connected fabric port.
- ASMNG/2/ASACCESSPORTINVALID: OID [oid] AS fails to go online.
- Check whether the configuration on the AS interface is necessary. If the configuration is necessary, go to step 2. If not, follow these instructions to delete the configuration:
- If the interface has been added to an AS port group in the port group view, run the undo as name as-name interface interface-type interface-number in the port group view to remove the interface from the AS port group. Then, you must run the commit as name as-name command to commit the configuration in the uni-mng view, so that the service template configuration will be deleted from the interface.
- If directly issued service configuration of the interface is found in the uni-mng view, run the undo direct-command view interface-type interface-number command command-text command in the uni-mng view to delete the configuration.
- If configuration on the interface is necessary, use another interface as the member port of the uplink fabric port.
- Check whether the configuration on the AS interface is necessary. If the configuration is necessary, go to step 2. If not, follow these instructions to delete the configuration:
- An AS with the same ESN has gone online.
Replace the AS with a new one.
- The number of ASs and APs connected to the parent has reached the maximum number of CAPWAP links.
- Remove unnecessary ASs or APs.
- Migrate ASs or APs to another parent of which the number of CAPWAP links has not reached the maximum value.
- Replace the parent with another one supporting more CAPWAP links.
- The authentication profile pre-configured on an AS is different from that on other ASs connected to the same fabric port.
Bind the same authentication profile to the AS as that configured on other ASs.

After an active/standby switchover is performed, users connecting to the original active AS go offline.
Possible Causes
The MAC address switching mode of the AS stack system was not set to non-switching. If the MAC address switching delay was set to 0, MAC address switching would not be performed.
Procedure
- Check whether MAC address switching is required when an active/standby switchover is performed in the AS stack system.
- If so, the alarm handling ends.
- If not, go to step 2.
- Run the stack timer mac-address switch-delay 0 command in the system view to set the value of the MAC address switching timer to 0.
ASMNG_1.3.6.1.4.1.2011.5.25.327.31.2.2.23 hwAsSlotOnlineFailNotify
Description
ASMNG/2/ASSLOTONLINEFAIL: OID [oid] AS board fails to go online. (AS Index=[INTEGER], AS Name=[STRING], Slot Model=[STRING], Slot ID=[INTEGER], Reason ID=[INTEGER], Description=[STRING])
When an AS is a stack, some member switches in the stack failed to go online.
Attribute
Alarm ID | Alarm Severity | Alarm Type |

Parameters
Name | Meaning |
---|---|
oid |
Indicates the MIB object ID of the alarm. |
AS Index |
Index of the AS. |
AS Name |
Name of the AS. |
Slot Model |
Device model of the AS. |
Slot ID |
Device ID of the switch that failed to go online. |
Reason ID |
ID of the online failure reason. |
Description |
Online failure reason: The downstream port is configured as a stack port. |
Possible Causes
When a stack functioned as an AS, the new member switch used downlink ports as stack member ports.
Procedure
- If the new member switch in the stack cannot go online, disconnect it from the stack and then run the display stack port command to check whether the configured stack member ports are downlink ports. If so, go to step 2.
- Change stack member ports from downlink ports to uplink ports.
- Run the shutdown interface { interface-type interface-number1 [ to interface-type interface-number2 ] } &<1-10> command in the logical stack port view to disable stack member ports.
- Run the undo port interface { interface-type interface-number1 [ to interface-type interface-number2 ] } &<1-10> enable command in the logical stack port view to remove stack member ports from the logical stack port.
- Run the port interface { interface-type interface-number3 [ to interface-type interface-number4 ] } &<1-10> enable command in the logical stack port view to add uplink ports to the logical stack port.
