VCMP
VCMP_1.3.6.1.4.1.2011.5.25.42.3.1.4.2 hwVcmpServerMacConflict
Description
VCMP/4/VCMP_MULTI_SERVER: OID [oid] More than one server exists in the VCMP domain. (VcmpDeviceMac=[OPAQUE])
Multiple VCMP servers coexist in a VCMP domain.
Parameters
Name | Meaning |
---|---|
oid | Indicates the MIB object ID of the alarm. |
VcmpDeviceMac | MAC address of a conflicting server. |
Impact on the System
If this trap is displayed, more than one VCMP server exists in a VCMP domain. VCMP clients learn VLAN information sent by all VCMP servers. For example, there are two VCMP servers in a VCMP domain. VLAN 10 is created on one VCMP server and deleted from the other VCMP server. The VCMP clients in the same VCMP domain create and the delete VLAN 10, which causing a communication failure.
Procedure
- Run the display vcmp status command on each device in the VCMP domain to view the Role field. Check whether more than one device functions as the VCMP server.
- Run the vcmp role { client | silent | transparent } command on a VCMP server to change its role to a non-server device. Check whether the trap is cleared.
- Collect the alarm, log, and configuration information, and then contact technical support personnel.
- End.
VCMP_1.3.6.1.4.1.2011.5.25.42.3.1.4.3 hwVcmpRevisionConflict
Description
VCMP/4/VCMP_COLLISION_REVISION: OID [oid] A server received a VCMP packet with a higher revision number. (VcmpDeviceMac=[OPAQUE])
After a VCMP client sent the VCMP server a VCMP request packet due to a restart or a configuration change, the 16 left-most bits in the configuration revision number in a received VCMP packet are the same as that of the local revision number, and the 16 right-most bits are greater than the local ones.
Parameters
Name | Meaning |
---|---|
oid | Indicates the MIB object ID of the alarm. |
VcmpDeviceMac | MAC address of a conflicting server. |
Impact on the System
After this trap is displayed, VLAN information on the VCMP server cannot be sent to VCMP clients in the same VCMP domain.
Procedure
- Run the display current-configuration command on each VCMP client and theVCMP server to obtain the configurations that take effect. Compare the configurations on the VCMP clients with those on the VCMP server and check whether VLAN information is missing on the VCMP server.
- Reconfigure the VLAN on the VCMP server. Then check whether the trap is cleared.
- Collect the alarm, log, and configuration information, and then contact technical support personnel.
- End.
