Possible Causes
Cause 1: The lower temperature alarm threshold of the AP (device, environment, CPU, NP chip, or IRF) was not properly set.
Cause 2: The AP (device, environment, CPU, NP chip, or IRF) temperature was too low.
Procedure
- Run the display ap-system-profile { all | name profile-name } command to check whether the lower temperature alarm threshold is set properly.
- If so, go to Step 3.
- If not, go to Step 2.
- Run the low-temperature [ ap-environment | cpu | np ] threshold min-temperature command to set a proper lower temperature alarm threshold.
- If the alarm persists, go to Step 3.
- If the alarm is cleared, go to Step 5.
- Increase the ambient temperature by turning up air-conditioners.
- If the alarm persists, go to Step 4.
- If the alarm is cleared, go to Step 5.
- Collect trap, log, and configuration information, and contact technical support.
- End.

The AP generates the alarm when the number of users associated with the AP exceeds the alarm threshold.

Parameters
Name | Meaning |
---|---|
OID | Indicates the ID of the MIB object. |
ApMac | Indicates the MAC address of an AP. |
APName |
Indicates the AP name. |
RadioID | Indicates the radio ID of the AP. |
UserNum | Indicates the number of UAC users. |
APID | Indicates the AP ID. |
Impact on the System
When the number of users on a radio reaches the CAC threshold, the AP reports an alarm and denies access from new users. Since the system has other radios to provide services, user services will not be affected unless the number of users has exceeded the system capacity.
Possible Causes
The number of users associated with the AP radio has reached the upper limit and new users are associating with the AP radio.
Procedure
- Run the uac client-number threshold threshold access access-threshold [ roam roam-threshold ] command in the RRM profile view to increase
the upper limit on the number of users. Then, check whether the alarm
persists.
- If so, go to Step 2.
- If not, go to Step 3.
- Collect alarm messages, log messages, and configurations, and then contact the technical support personnel.
- End.

WLAN_1.3.6.1.4.1.2011.6.139.17.2.1.1 hwVapNumExceedSpecTrap
Description
WLAN/2/VAP_NUM_EXCEEDED: OID [oid] The number of VAP instances has exceeded the maximum. (Vap = [INTEGER])
The number of VAP instances exceeds the maximum number defined in the specifications.
Parameters
Name | Meaning |
---|---|
OID |
Indicates the ID of a MIB object. |
Vap |
Indicates the maximum number of VAPs. |
Impact on the System
VAPs that exceed the maximum number defined in the specifications cannot be created.
Possible Causes
The number of VAP instances exceeds the maximum number defined in the specifications.
Procedure
- Run the display vap all command to check all VAPs on the device.
- Run the display ac protect command to check whether dual-link backup or N+1 backup is configured.
In dual-link backup and N+1 backup scenarios, the total number of VAPs configured on the active and standby ACs cannot exceed the maximum number of VAPs supported by a single AC. Otherwise, services may be lost during an active/standby switchover. If the number of VAPs exceeds the maximum number defined in the specifications of an AC, delete unnecessary VAPs or replace the AC with one supporting higher specifications.
- Run the display ap by-ssid ssid command to view information about an AP group with a specified SSID.
- Run the ap-group name group-name command to display the AP group view.
- Run the undo vap-profile profile-name wlan wlan-id { radio { radio-id | all } } command to delete unnecessary VAPs.
- If the alarm persists, go to Step 6.
- If the alarm is cleared, go to Step 7.
- Collect alarm messages, log messages, and configurations, and then contact technical support personnel.
- End.
WLAN_1.3.6.1.4.1.2011.6.139.17.2.1.2 hwVapIGMPSnoopingBandwidthExceedTrap
Description
WLAN/4/VAP_IGMP_SNOOPING_BANDWIDTH_EXCEEDED: OID [oid] The IGMP snooping bandwidth of VAP has reached the maximum. (APMAC=[OPAQUE], RADIOID=[INTEGER], WLANID=[INTEGER], APName=[STRING], MaxBandWidth=[INTEGER], APID=[INTEGER])
The multicast bandwidth of a VAP exceeds the threshold.
Parameters
Name | Meaning |
---|---|
OID | ID of a MIB object. |
APMAC | MAC address of an AP. |
RADIOID | Radio ID. |
WLANID | WLAN ID. |
APName | AP name. |
MaxBandWidth | Maximum multicast bandwidth of a VAP. |
APID | AP ID. |
Possible Causes
The multicast traffic of the VAP exceeds the maximum multicast bandwidth configured for the VAP.
Procedure
- Run the display traffic-profile { all | name profile-name } command to check whether the maximum multicast bandwidth of a
VAP is properly configured.
- If so, the actual multicast traffic is too large, and it is normal that users are prevented from joining multicast groups, and no action is required. Go to Step 5.
- If not, go to Step 2.
- Run the igmp-snooping max-bandwidth max-bandwidth command to configure a large value for the maximum multicast bandwidth of a VAP.
- Check whether the alarm persists.
- If so, go to Step 4.
- If not, go to Step 5.
- Collect trap, log, and configuration information, and contact technical support personnel.
- End.
