Configuring the Retrieving Mode of a Clock Source
Configuring the Retrieving Mode of a Clock Source
Context
In automatic clock source selection mode, if a new clock
source becomes available, the device determines whether to
switch the clock source based on the working mode of the clock source
selection algorithm. There are two working modes of clock source selection
algorithm: revertive and non-revertive.
Revertive mode: Switching is performed if the new clock source
has a higher SSM quality level. If the new clock source has the same
SSM quality level but a higher priority than the old clock source,
switching is also performed. In other situations, switching is not
performed.
Non-revertive mode: Switching is performed if the new clock source
has a higher SSM quality level. If the new clock source has the same
SSM quality level but a higher priority than the old clock source,
switching is not performed. In other situations, switching is not
performed.
