Basic Concepts of Fault Management
Basic Concepts of Fault Management
Alarm:
An alarm is generated when a device notifies users
of a fault. Maintenance personnel learn the device running status
and locate faults based on alarms.
Active alarm:
An active alarm is the notification of
generating an alarm. For example, the hwFanInvalid alarm indicates
that the fan is faulty.
Clear alarm:
A clear alarm is the notification of clearing
an alarm. For example, the hwFanInvalidResume alarm indicates that
the fan fault is rectified.
Each active alarm maps a clear alarm.
Event:
An event is generated to inform maintenance personnel
of the device operating state.
