Performing Smart Upgrade Immediately
Context
If a user is notified that a new version of system software is available and wants to perform an upgrade to experience the new version, the user can perform smart upgrade immediately to implement loading of and upgrade to the new version in one-click mode.
Prerequisites
Before performing smart upgrade, ensure the following:
- A new version of system software is available.
- Smart upgrade is enabled on the switch.
Procedure
- Run system-view
The system view is displayed.
- Run display smart-upgrade information
The switch version is checked. Ensure that the value of Check version result in the command output is needUpdate.
- (Optional) Run smart-upgrade download
The switch is triggered to download the system file.
- Run smart-upgrade right-now
Smart upgrade is performed immediately.
If the smart-upgrade download command is not run before this command is run, the smart upgrade operations include two parts: system file download and system upgrade. If the smart-upgrade download command is run before this command is run, the smart upgrade operations include only system upgrade.
Resumable download is supported during system file download of smart upgrade. If the download is interrupted due to a network exception, run this command. The switch then continues the download from the breakpoint.
