Multicast Group Policy Does Not Take Effect
Fault Description
A multicast policy is configured on the switch to allow hosts to join specified multicast groups. However, hosts can still receive multicast data sent to other multicast groups.
Procedure
- Run the display acl command to check whether the access control list (ACL) rules conflict with the multicast group policy.
- Run the display igmp-snooping configuration command to check whether a correct multicast group policy is applied to the VLAN. If not, run the igmp-snooping group-policy command to apply a correct multicast group policy to the VLAN.
- Run the display current-configuration | include drop-unknown command to check whether the switch is enabled to discard unknown multicast packets. If not, run the multicast drop-unknown command to enable the switch to discard unknown multicast packets.
