(Optional) Associating a Minor Link Event with an Interface
Context
Minor link events include errored symbol period events, errored frame events, and errored frame seconds summary events. If the number of code errors, errored frames, or errored frame seconds detected by an interface on a link (during the configured period) reaches or exceeds the configured threshold, the link is unavailable or has low quality. You can associate an EFM crossing event with an interface. The system then sets the administrative status of the interface to Down, interrupting all services on the interface.
Perform the following steps at one or two ends of a link.
Procedure
- Run system-view
The system view is displayed.
- Run interface interface-type interface-number
The view of the interface at one end of the link is displayed.
- Run efm threshold-event trigger error-down
A threshold crossing event is associated with an interface.
By default, no threshold crossing event is associated with an interface.
Follow-up Procedure
Run the error-down auto-recovery command in the system view to configure the interface to go administratively Up after the auto recovery delay.
Run the shutdown command and then the undo shutdown command in the interface view to restore the administrative status of the interface to Up.
