(Optional) Connecting an Antenna
The Atlas 500 AI edge station supports two types of antennas: LTE indoor remote antenna and LTE whip antenna. The following describes the two types of antenna connections. You can select an antenna as required.
Context
Do not power on the Atlas 500 AI edge station before you finish connecting cables.
When connecting cables, ensure correct cable connections according to the labels on the ports. Incorrect cable connections may cause damage to the interface module or the Atlas 500 AI edge station.
Preparing Tools and Accessories
LTE indoor remote antenna (It is not included in the installation accessory package and needs to be purchased separately.)
LTE whip antennas (They are not included in the installation accessory package and need to be purchased separately.)
Phillips screwdriver
Tapping screw
Anti-theft screw
Connecting an LTE Indoor Remote Antenna
Procedure
- Wear an ESD wrist strap.
For details, see ESD Protection.
- Connect one end of the LTE indoor remote antenna to the antenna port on the Atlas 500 AI edge station. See Figure 5-21.
- Use tapping screws or anti-theft screws to secure the LTE indoor remote antenna to a cabinet.
Connecting LTE Whip Antennas
Procedure
- Wear an ESD wrist strap.

- Connect the antennas to the antenna ports on the Atlas 500 AI edge station. See Figure 5-22.
- Adjust the angle of each LTE whip antenna to better receive and transmit radio signals. See Figure 5-23.
