Enabling Protection for the Secondary Resource in a Remote Replication CG
This section describes how to enable protection for the secondary resources of all remote replication pairs in a CG. After this operation, data cannot be written to secondary resources, ensuring secondary resource data security.
Prerequisites
Running Status of the remote replication CG and Secondary Resource Data Status of remote replication pairs in the CG help you determine whether protection for the secondary resources in a remote replication CG can be enabled, as shown in Table 6-5.

Procedure
- Choose Data Protection > Protection Entities > Protection Groups > Remote Replication CGs.
- Click More on the right of the desired remote replication CG and select Enable Protection for Secondary Resource.
You can also perform the following operations to enable protection for the secondary resource in a remote replication CG:
- Click the name of the remote replication CG. In the upper right corner of the page that is displayed, click Operation and select Enable Protection for Secondary Resource.
- Choose Services > Block Service > LUN Groups. Click the name of the desired LUN group. On the page that is displayed on the right, click the Protection tab, and then select Remote Replication from the drop-down list. Select the desired remote replication CG, and choose More > Enable Protection for Secondary Resource.
- Choose Data Protection > Protection Entities > Protection Groups > Protection Groups.
- Click the name of the desired PG. On the page that is displayed on the right, click the Protection tab, and then select Remote Replication from the drop-down list. Select the desired remote replication CG, and choose More > Enable Protection for Secondary Resource.
- If the value of Remote Replication CGs is not 0, click the value. Select the desired remote replication CG, and choose More > Enable Protection for Secondary Resource.
