Enabling Protection for Secondary Resource
Once protection for the secondary resource of a remote replication pair is enabled, the application server cannot modify data of the secondary resource, ensuring data security.
Prerequisites
Running Status and Secondary Resource Data Status of the remote replication pair help you determine whether protection for the secondary resource can be enabled, as shown in Table 5-5.

Procedure
- Choose Data Protection > Protection Entities > LUNs > Remote Replication Pairs.
- Click More on the right of the desired remote replication pair and select Enable Protection for Secondary Resource.
You can also perform the following operations to enable protection for the secondary resource in a remote replication pair:
- Click the name of the desired remote replication pair. In the upper right corner of the page that is displayed, click Operation and select Enable Protection for Secondary Resource.
- Choose Services > Block Service > LUNs. Click the name of the desired LUN. On the page that is displayed on the right, click the Protection tab, and then select Remote Replication from the drop-down list. Select the desired remote replication pair and choose More > Enable Protection for Secondary Resource.
- Choose Data Protection > Protection Entities > LUNs > LUNs.
- Click the name of the desired LUN. On the page that is displayed on the right, click the Protection tab, and then select Remote Replication from the drop-down list. Select the desired remote replication pair and choose More > Enable Protection for Secondary Resource.
- If the value of Remote Replication Pairs is not 0, click the value. Select the desired remote replication pair and choose More > Enable Protection for Secondary Resource.
