Synchronizing a Remote Replication Pair
After the initial synchronization of a remote replication pair, if an application server writes data to the primary resource or you need to split the pair, data inconsistency between primary and secondary resources may occur. This section describes how to synchronize the remote replication pair to ensure data consistency between primary and secondary resources.
Prerequisites
- The remote replication pair has not been added to a CG.
- Protection for the secondary resource has been enabled.
- Running Status of the remote replication pair helps you determine whether the remote replication pair can be synchronized, as shown in Table 5-3.

Procedure
- Choose Data Protection > Protection Entities > LUNs > Remote Replication Pairs.
- Select the remote replication pair that you want to synchronize and click Synchronize.Confirm your operation as prompted.
Alternatively, perform any of the following operations to synchronize a remote replication pair:
- Click More on the right of the desired remote replication pair and select Synchronize.
- Click the name of the desired remote replication pair. In the upper right corner of the page that is displayed, click Operation and select Synchronize.
- Choose Services > Block Service > LUNs. Click the name of the desired LUN. On the page that is displayed on the right, click the Protection tab, and then select Remote Replication from the drop-down list. Select the desired remote replication pair and click Synchronize.
- Choose Data Protection > Protection Entities > LUNs > LUNs.
- Click the name of the desired LUN. On the page that is displayed on the right, click the Protection tab, and then select Remote Replication from the drop-down list. Select the desired remote replication pair and click Synchronize.
- If the value of Remote Replication Pairs is not 0, click the value. Select the desired remote replication pair and click Synchronize.
