Adding a Control Object

Procedure

1. Choose Services > Resource Tuning > SmartQoS.
2. Click More on the right of the desired SmartQoS policy and select Add Object.

   The Add Object page is displayed.

   Alternatively, perform any of the following operations to go to the Add Object page:

   • Click the name of the desired SmartQoS policy. In the upper right corner of the page that is displayed, select Add Object from the Operation drop-down list.
   • Click the name of the desired SmartQoS policy. On the page that is displayed, click the Control Objects tab page, and then click Add.
   • Click the value in the Control Objects column of the desired SmartQoS policy. On the Control Objects tab page, click Add.

3. Select objects to be added.
   1. Select a resource type.
      • For a common SmartQoS policy:
        • If the SmartQoS policy does not have any object, LUN, LUN group, and Host are available.
        • If the SmartQoS policy already has LUNs, only LUNs are available.
        • If the SmartQoS policy already has LUN groups, only LUN groups are available.
        • If the SmartQoS policy already has hosts, only hosts are available.
      • For a hierarchical SmartQoS policy:
        • If the SmartQoS policy does not have any object, the available resource types are LUN and Common policy, LUN group and Common policy, and Host and Common policy.
        • If the SmartQoS policy already has LUNs, LUN and Common policy are available.
        • If the SmartQoS policy already has LUN groups, LUN group and Common policy are available.
        • If the SmartQoS policy already has hosts, Host and Common policy are available.
        • A LUN group can be added to only one SmartQoS policy.
        • You can add common policies to only a hierarchical policy.
   2. Select the desired objects and they are added to the right list automatically.

4. Click OK.

   Confirm your operation as prompted.
