Failure to Add an iSCSI Link for a Remote Device
After the iSCSI initiator is renamed, an iSCSI link fails to be added for the remote device.
Symptom
- When an iSCSI link is added for the remote device immediately after the iSCSI initiator is renamed, a message is displayed stating The communication is abnormal or the system is busy. Please try again later.
- Log in to the DeviceManager and choose Data Protection > Remote Devices. It is found that the new iSCSI link is not displayed in iSCSI Links.
Possible Causes
An iSCSI link is added for the remote device within 30 seconds after the iSCSI initiator is renamed.
Procedure
- Check whether the iSCSI initiator is renamed in 30 seconds.
- Check whether an iSCSI link has already been added for the remote device.
- Delete the existing iSCSI link.
- Add an iSCSI link after 30 seconds.
- Check whether the iSCSI link is successfully added.
- If yes, no further action is required.
- If no, keep the fault environment intact and contact technical support engineers.
