(Optional) Configuring the Switch to Use the Resource Saving Mode When a Traffic Policy Is Applied
Context
When the MQC-enabled switch generates an alarm about a failure to apply a traffic policy due to insufficient ACL resources, configure the switch to use the resource saving mode. The switch then re-allocates ACL resources required by all traffic policies so that another traffic policy can be applied successfully.
The CE12800E configured with ED-E, EG-E, and EGA-E series cards does
not support this function.
Procedure
- Run system-view
The system view is displayed.
- Run traffic-policy resource-saving-mode
The switch is enabled to use the resource saving mode when a traffic policy is applied.
By default, the switch is disabled from using the resource saving mode when a traffic policy is applied.
- The resource saving mode is valid for only the traffic policy that is applied in the inbound direction (excluding the ACL-based simplified traffic policy).
- When this command is used, all traffic policies are automatically delivered again. This may cause short service interruption.
- When this command is used and a traffic policy is applied to the device or the traffic classifier, traffic behavior, or ACL rule in an applied traffic policy changes, all traffic policies are automatically delivered again. This may cause short service interruption.
- In the scenario where the device is configured to use the resource saving mode when a traffic policy is applied, for ED, EF, and EG cards that support extended TCAM, the system automatically releases ACL resources that are occupied by all traffic policies delivered to the extended TCAM. Then the system delivers the traffic policy to the built-in TCAM. However, the traffic policy may fail to be delivered due to insufficient built-in TCAM resources.
- This command and the acl sequence retain enable command can not be used together.
