Setting iSNS
An Internet Storage Name Service (iSNS) server operates as a unified configuration node and allows you to configure and manage the entire storage network, including iSCSI and Fibre Channel devices.
Context
In traditional device-by-device mode, you must manually configure initiators and targets for each storage system, leading to high management and maintenance costs. After the iSNS service is configured, an iSNS server discovers and manages storage services and you do not need to manually configure the initiator and target lists, greatly reducing costs.
Procedure
- Log in to DeviceManager.
- Choose
Settings >
Storage Settings > Block Storage Service > iSNS Settings.
- Type the IP address of the iSNS server in iSNS Server.
The IP address of an iSNS server can be an IPv4 or IPv6 address.
- Click Save.
The Execution Result dialog box is displayed, indicating that the operation succeeded.
- Click Close.
