Deactivating a Snapshot
If the capacity of the storage pool where a source LUN resides is insufficient, you can deactivate snapshots to release the capacity occupied by them.
Prerequisites
- At least one snapshot has been created on the storage system.
- Running Status of the snapshot to be deactivated is Activated.
- Snapshot LUNs are not configured with LUN copy.
Procedure
- Log in to DeviceManager.
- Choose
Data Protection >
Snapshot > LUN.
- In the function pane, select one or more snapshots you want to deactivate and choose More > Deactivate on the menu bar.
The security alert dialog box is displayed.
- Confirm the snapshot deactivation.
- Confirm the information in the dialog box, select I have read and understand the consequences associated with performing this operation, and click OK.
The Execution Result dialog box is displayed, indicating that the operation succeeded.
- Click Close.
- Confirm the information in the dialog box, select I have read and understand the consequences associated with performing this operation, and click OK.
Data Protection > 
Snapshot > LUN.
