Expanding a Snapshot
This operation expands the snapshot capacity to meet service requirements.
Prerequisites
At least one snapshot has been created on the storage system.
Precautions
- To ensure data integrity, you are advised to stop services on the snapshot before expanding it.
- After the expansion, rescan for the snapshot LUN on hosts.
Procedure
- Log in to DeviceManager.
- Choose
Data Protection >
Snapshot.
- In the function pane, select the snapshot whose capacity you want to expand and choose More > Expand on the menu bar.
The Expand Snapshot dialog box is displayed.
- Set the expansion parameters.
- In Added Capacity, enter the capacity you want to add.
The snapshot capacity after expansion must not exceed the system specifications.
- Select a unit from the drop-down list on the right side of Added Capacity.
Available units are Blocks, MB, GB, and TB.
- In Added Capacity, enter the capacity you want to add.
- Confirm the expansion configurations.
- Click OK.
The Caution dialog box is displayed.
- Click OK.
The Success dialog box is displayed.
- Click OK.
- Click OK.
