Deleting a Snapshot
Deleting a snapshot releases the resources occupied by the snapshot.
Prerequisites
- At least one snapshot has been created on the storage system.
- Running Status of the snapshot is Unactivated. Otherwise, deactivate the snapshot.
- The snapshot that you want to delete has been removed from the LUN group.
Precautions
When a snapshot LUN serves as the source LUN for a LUN copy, the snapshot cannot be deleted.
Procedure
- Log in to DeviceManager.
- Choose
Data Protection >
Snapshot > LUN.
- In the function pane, select the snapshots you want to delete and click Delete.
The security alert dialog box is displayed.
- Confirm the deletion of the snapshot.
- Confirm the information in the dialog box, select I have read and understand the consequences associated with performing this operation, and click OK.
The Execution Result dialog box is displayed, indicating that the operation succeeded.
- Click Close.
- Confirm the information in the dialog box, select I have read and understand the consequences associated with performing this operation, and click OK.
Data Protection > 
Snapshot > LUN.
