Activating a Snapshot
This operation enables you to activate existing snapshots to flexibly and frequently generate data copies on a storage system, helping with rapid data recovery when necessary.
Prerequisites
- At least one snapshot has been created on the storage system.
- Running Status of the snapshot is Unactivated.
- The storage pool where the source LUN resides has enough space to store snapshot data.
- The used capacity of the storage pool does not exceed the threshold. Otherwise, the snapshot fails to be activated.
Procedure
- Log in to DeviceManager.
- Choose
Data Protection >
Snapshot > LUN.
- In the function pane, select the snapshot you want to activate and choose More > Activate on the menu bar.
The security alert dialog box is displayed.
- Confirm the snapshot activation.
- Confirm the information in the dialog box, select I have read and understand the consequences associated with performing this operation, and click OK.
The Execution Result dialog box is displayed, indicating that the operation succeeded.
- Click Close.
- Confirm the information in the dialog box, select I have read and understand the consequences associated with performing this operation, and click OK.
Data Protection > 
Snapshot > LUN.
