Creating a Snapshot Copy
This operation enables you to create a copy of a snapshot, facilitating more usage.
Prerequisites
- At least one snapshot has been created on the storage system.
- A copy can be created only for a snapshot whose Health Status is Normal and Running Status is Activated.
Procedure
- Log in to DeviceManager.
- Choose
Data Protection >
Snapshot > LUN.
- In the function pane, select the snapshot for which you want to create a copy and choose More > Create Copy on the menu bar.
The Create Snapshot Copy dialog box is displayed.
- Create a snapshot copy.
- In Copy Name, enter a name for the copy.
The naming rules are as follows:
- The name can contain only letters, digits, periods (.), underscores (_), and hyphens (-).
- The name contains 1 to 31 characters.
- The name must be unique.
- Click OK.
The Execution Result dialog box is displayed, indicating that the operation succeeded.
- Click Close.
- In Copy Name, enter a name for the copy.

A snapshot copy is also a virtual snapshot that has the same features and specifications as other writable snapshots.
