Deleting a Snapshot
This section describes how to delete unnecessary snapshots to release file system space.
Prerequisites
The source file system is not in the Faulty state.
Procedure
- Choose Data Protection > Protection Entities > File Systems > Snapshots.
- Select the vStore to which the desired file system belongs from the vStore drop-down list in the upper left corner.
- Select a file system, select the desired snapshot, and click Delete.
Confirm your operation as prompted.
Alternatively, perform any of the following operations to delete a snapshot:
- Click More on the right of the desired snapshot and select Delete.
- Click the name of the desired snapshot. In the upper right corner of the page that is displayed, click Operation and select Delete.
- Choose Services > File Service > File Systems.
- Click the name of the desired file system. On the page that is displayed, click the Protection tab and select Snapshot from the drop-down list. Select the desired snapshot and click Delete.
- Click the name of the desired file system. On the page that is displayed, click the Protection tab and select Snapshot from the drop-down list. Click More on the right of the desired snapshot and select Delete.
- Choose Data Protection > Protection Entities > File Systems > File Systems.
- Click the name of the desired file system. On the page that is displayed, click the Protection tab and select Snapshot from the drop-down list. Select the desired snapshot and choose More > Delete.
- Click the name of the desired file system. On the page that is displayed, click the Protection tab and select Snapshot from the drop-down list. Click More on the right of the desired snapshot and select Delete.
- Click the value in the Snapshots column of the desired file system if the value is not 0. On the Protection tab page, select Snapshot from the drop-down list. Select the desired snapshot and choose More > Delete.
- Click the value in the Snapshots column of the desired file system if the value is not 0. On the Protection tab page, select Snapshot from the drop-down list. Click More on the right of the desired snapshot and select Delete.
