Log Management
Logs of the OceanStor Dorado V6 series storage system record a series of activities that have occurred in the storage system in chronological order. Log records can help you understand operations, processes, and event information related to security transactions.
Exporting Storage System Logs
The OceanStor Dorado V6 series storage system provides log files, as listed in Table 3-3.

System logs |
System logs record the information about the running data, events, and debugging operations on the storage system and can be used for analyzing the running status of the storage system. |
System alarms and events |
The alarm and event information covers the faults and events that are automatically recorded while the storage system is running. When the storage system malfunctions, maintenance personnel can view the alarms and logs to locate and rectify the fault. The alarm and event information includes Severity, ID, Description, Object, Occurred, and Sequence No. |
The DeviceManager wizard enables you to quickly export logs, alarms, and events of the storage system. Table 3-4 lists the related operations.
Log Dump
Log files are important in tracing events, locating faults, and auditing events. Therefore, log file storage becomes a focus. The OceanStor Dorado V6 series storage system provides the log dump function. With this function, log files can be sent to an external server or client for storage using multiple protocols, facilitating query and analysis.
Before using the log dump function, you must deploy a log dump server to save log files.
