Management Server Planning and Design
- iMaster NCE-Campus planning suggestions:
It is recommended that at least three nodes be deployed in a cluster. The nodes are deployed based on the default settings. The following figure shows the solution for deploying the controller and FusionInsight on the same servers.
On a medium- or large-sized campus network, it is recommended that iMaster NCE-Campus be deployed in internal zones, such as the data center or network management zone. Firewalls are used to control north-south traffic of the controller. Two network planes are recommended during network design, that is, the internal communication plane and the integrated plane (including service, southbound, and northbound planes).
- iMaster NCE-CampusInsight planning suggestions:
It is recommended that a cluster with at least three iMaster NCE-CampusInsight nodes (servers) be deployed. The following table lists the corresponding requirements.
Node Name
Number of Nodes
Node Type
Active management node
1
Cluster Node (Active Management Plane + FusionInsight + Data Analysis Service + Collection Service)
Standby management node
1
Cluster Node (Standby Management Plane + FusionInsight + Data Analysis Service + Collection Service)
Application node
≥1
Cluster Node (FusionInsight + Data Analysis Service + Collection Service)
Dual planes are recommended for iMaster NCE-CampusInsight, that is, external access plane and southbound service plane. The external access plane must be reachable to the northbound plane of iMaster NCE-Campus.
The iMaster NCE-CampusInsight cluster receives southbound data in either of the following ways: Using iMaster NCE-CampusInsight for load balancing or using an alternative load balancer of the customer's choice for load balancing. You are advised to use the former method.
