Subnet and Interface Configuration
Context
After a campus site is created and network devices are managed in iMaster NCE-Campus, you can configure campus network services based on the data plan. The first step for configuring campus network services is to configure the following information based on the VLAN and IP address plan:
- Subnets and interfaces for interconnection between network devices. Configuring a subnet involves configuring the VLAN IDs (for creating VLANIF interfaces) and interconnection IP addresses. Configuring interfaces involves adding them to VLANs.
- User subnets. To be specific, you need to configure the VLAN IDs (for creating the VLANIF interfaces that function as user gateways) and gateway interface IP addresses, and enable the DHCP function. If an external DHCP server is used to assign IP addresses to users and if the IP address of the DHCP server is on a different network segment from user hosts, enable the DHCP relay function.
- Interfaces connecting user gateways and user hosts. You need to configure user VLAN IDs to ensure that the user gateways can communicate with user hosts over the VLANs.
