Adding a Stack
Context
To manage a stack on iMaster NCE-Campus, add member switches to a site on iMaster NCE-Campus (see Adding Devices), and then set up a stack by configuring stack card stacking or configuring service port stacking using commands. After a stack is set up, you need to add the stack to the site.
When you add a stack to a site, the stack restarts if the original stack information is different from the information in the template imported to iMaster NCE-Campus. Before the restart, iMaster NCE-Campus delivers new stack information (except the slot IDs of the modular switch members in the stack) to the stack. Therefore:
- For a stack of modular switches that needs to go online on iMaster NCE-Campus using commands, you can run the display esn and display css status commands during local command configuration to record the mapping between the ESNs, stack IDs, and stack priorities of the switch members in the stack. To prevent a stack restart, ensure that the stack information on iMaster NCE-Campus is the same as that when the stack is set up.
- For a stack of fixed switches that achieves plug-and-play in DHCP mode, the stack needs to have empty configuration. In addition, you are advised to add stack information on iMaster NCE-Campus as planned due to the presence of many fixed switches on the campus network. If the stack information on iMaster NCE-Campus is different from the original information, the stack can restart and go online again according to the planned information.
