PCIe Card on a Riser Module
Removing a PCIe Card from a Riser Module
- Wear an ESD wrist strap. For details, see ESD Protection.
- Power off the device. For details, see Powering Off the Server.
- Remove the power cables and all signal cables.
- Remove the device. For details, see Removing the Device and Guide Rails.
- Remove the chassis cover. For details, see Chassis Cover.
- Remove the riser module where the PCIe card to be removed resides. For details, see Riser Modules.
- Open the PCIe card latch. See (1) in Figure 5-59.
- Pull out the PCIe card. See (2) in Figure 5-59.
- Place the removed PCIe card in an ESD bag.
- If a new PCIe card is not installed immediately, install a filler panel. See (1) and (2) in Figure 5-60.
- Install the riser module. For details, see Riser Modules.
Installing a PCIe Card on a Riser Module
- Remove the riser module where the PCIe card is to be installed. For details, see Riser Modules.
- Remove the PCIe card filler panel from the riser module. See Figure 5-61.
- Take a spare PCIe card out of its ESD bag.
- Insert the PCIe card into a PCIe slot. See (1) in Figure 5-62.
- Close the latch. See (2) in Figure 5-62.
- Install the riser module. For details, see Riser Modules.
- Install the chassis cover. For details, see Chassis Cover.
- Install the device. For details, see Installing the Device and Guide Rails.
- Connect the power cables and all signal cables.
- Power on the device. For details, see Powering On the Server.
- Log in to the iBMC WebUI, and check whether the new component is normal. For details, see the Atlas 800 AI Training Server iBMC Alarm Handling (Models 9000).
