(Optional) SDI Card
Removing an SDI Card
- Wear an ESD wrist strap. For details, see ESD Protection.
- Power off the device. For details, see Powering Off the Server.
- Remove the power cables and all signal cables.
- Remove the device. For details, see Removing the Device and Guide Rails.
- Remove the chassis cover. For details, see Chassis Cover.
- Determine the position for installing the SDI card. See Figure 5-63. The SDI card is installed on riser module 1.
- Remove the riser module 2. For details, see Riser Modules.
- Remove the cables from riser module 2 to the SDI card. For details, see Figure 3-8. Remove the cables from riser module 2 to the NPU board. For details, see Figure 3-2.
- Remove the LP Slimline cable from riser module 1 to the mainboard (J304). For details, see Figure 3-6.
- Remove the riser module 1. For details, see Riser Modules.
- Remove the cables from riser module 1 to the NPU board. For details, see Figure 3-3. Remove the power cable between the SDI card and riser module 1. For details, see Figure 3-8.
- Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the M3X6 countersunk screws from the riser card tray. See (1) in Figure 5-64.
- Open the latch on the SDI card and pull out the SDI card. See (2) and (3) in Figure 5-64.
- Remove the serial cable to the mainboard (J24) and the LP Slimline cable to riser module 2 from the ports on the SDI card. For details, see Figure 3-8.
- Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the two M3x8 screw assemblies from the support. See Figure 5-65.
- Place the removed SDI card in an ESD bag.
Installing an SDI Card
- Take a spare SDI card out of its ESD bag.
- Use two M3x8 screw assemblies to secure the support to the SDI card (the guide pins on the support are used for pre-positioning). See Figure 5-66.
- Connect the serial cable to the mainboard (J24) and the LP Slimline cable to riser module 2 to the ports on the SDI card. For details, see Figure 3-8.
- Insert one end of the auxiliary power cable into the SDI card power connector. See Figure 5-67.
- Place the cable into the cable trough on the plastic support from the rear. See Figure 5-68.
- Insert the other end of the auxiliary power cable into the 4-pin power connector on the riser card. See Figure 5-69.
Do not connect the cable connecting the 4-pin power connector on the riser card to the mainboard. Otherwise, an irreversible fault may occur on the device.
- Insert the SDI card into riser module 1. See (1) in Figure 5-70.
- Close the latch on the SDI card. See (2) in Figure 5-70.
- Use M3x6 countersunk screws to secure the SDI card support to the riser card tray. See (3) in Figure 5-70.
- Connect cables to riser module 1. For details, see Figure 3-3 and Figure 3-6.
- Install the riser module 1. For details, see Riser Modules.
- Connect cables to the riser module 2. For details, see Figure 3-2 and Figure 3-8.
- Install the riser module 2. For details, see Riser Modules.
- Install the chassis cover. For details, see Chassis Cover.
- Install the device. For details, see Installing the Device and Guide Rails.
- Connect the power cables and all signal cables.
- Power on the device. For details, see Powering On the Server.
- Log in to the iBMC WebUI, and check whether the new component is normal. For details, see the Atlas 800 AI Training Server iBMC Alarm Handling (Models 9000).
