Drive Backplane
Removing the Front Drive Backplane
- Wear an ESD wrist strap. For details, see ESD Protection.
- Power off the device. For details, see Powering Off the Server.
- Remove the power cables and all signal cables.
- Remove the device. For details, see Removing the Device and Guide Rails.
- Remove the chassis cover. For details, see Chassis Cover.
- Remove the air duct and support beam. For details, see Air Duct and Support Beam.
- Remove all front drives and fan modules. For details, see Drive and Fan Module.
- Remove all cables from the drive backplane. For details, see Internal Cabling.
- Loosen the screws, lift the front drive backplane as far as it will go, pull out the front drive backplane in the arrow direction to remove it. See (1) and (2) in Figure 5-107.
- Place the removed drive backplane in an ESD bag.
Installing the Front Drive Backplane
- Take a spare drive backplane out of its ESD bag.
- Hook the drive backplane, and push it in the arrow direction until the latches are locked and it does not move. See (1) in Figure 5-108.
- Tighten the screws on the drive backplane. See (2) in Figure 5-108.
Tighten all screws on the backplane to ensure that the drive backplane is firmly installed.
- Connect cables to the front drive backplane. For details, see Internal Cabling.
- Install all front drives and fan modules. For details, see Drive and Fan Module.
- Install the air duct and support beam. For details, see Air Duct and Support Beam.
- Install the chassis cover. For details, see Chassis Cover.
- Install the device. For details, see Installing the Device and Guide Rails.
- Connect the power cables and all signal cables.
- Power on the device. For details, see Powering On the Server.
- Log in to the iBMC WebUI, and check whether the new component is normal. For details, see the Atlas 800 AI Training Server iBMC Alarm Handling (Models 9000).
