Air Duct and Support Beam
Removing the Air Duct and Support Beam
- Wear an ESD wrist strap. For details, see ESD Protection.
- Power off the device. For details, see Powering Off the Server.
- Remove the power cables and all signal cables.
- Remove the device. For details, see Removing the Device and Guide Rails.
- Remove the chassis cover. For details, see Chassis Cover.
- Remove the liquid leakage detection cable from the air duct.
- Lift the air duct according to the signs on the air duct. See Figure 5-37.
- Remove the intrusion sensor cable from the support beam. For details, see Internal Cabling.
- Remove the support beam. See Figure 5-38.
- Place the removed air duct in an ESD bag.
Installing the Air Duct and Support Beam
- Take a spare air duct out of its ESD bag.
- (Optional) If a full-height full-length (FHFL) card is installed in riser module 1, remove the part along the breakpoint. See Figure 5-39.
After you remove the part, the air duct cannot be used for a non-FHFL card. Exercise caution when performing this operation.
- Install the support beam. See Figure 5-40.
- Install the intrusion sensor cable and secure it to the support beam. For details, see Internal Cabling.
- Align the positioning pins on the air duct with the fixing holes on the chassis wall according to the instructions on the air duct, and install the air duct downwards. Do not press the cables inside the chassis during installation. See Figure 5-41.
- Install the chassis cover. For details, see Chassis Cover.
- Install the device. For details, see Installing the Device and Guide Rails.
- Connect the power cables and all signal cables.
- Power on the device. For details, see Powering On the Server.
